Registered bed nights increased 86 percent
In May 2022, 1,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Äänekoski Region (+86.1 %), of which 1,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 103 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 85 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 98 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 86 percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (21 nights).
420 nights (+67.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 970 nights (+95.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 4,100 registered bed nights (+39.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 340 (+182.5 %) for foreigners in Äänekoski Region, in total 4,400 (+44.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 76 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.0 percent were domestic, and 6.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Äänekoski Region on average 1.8 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-2.9).
