Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 22 percent
In April 2019, 1,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Äänekoski Region (+21.6 %), of which 1,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 73 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 32 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 50 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 22 percent from last year's April.
220 nights (-31.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (+43.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 4,900 registered bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 340 (-34.5 %) for foreigners in Äänekoski Region, in total 5,200 (+1.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 11 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Äänekoski Region, length of stay in April was on average 1.9 nights and in Finland 1.9 nights (-0.4 %).
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Äänekoski Region on average 1.8 nights (+9.8 %) and foreigners 3.2 nights (+19.5 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Äänekoski Region on average 1.8 nights (+0.27) and foreigners 3.2 nights (-0.54).
