Registered bed nights increased 16 percent
In June 2019, 2,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Äänekoski Region (+16.3 %), of which 1,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 490 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 16 percent from last year's June.
960 nights (+21.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (+12.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 7,700 registered bed nights (-4.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,000 (+42.5 %) for foreigners in Äänekoski Region, in total 8,800 (-0.6 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 12 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Äänekoski Region, length of stay in June was on average 2.0 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (+0.4 %).
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Äänekoski Region on average 1.7 nights (-0.6 %) and foreigners 4.0 nights (+33.2 %).
1,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.3 percent were domestic, and 11.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Äänekoski Region on average 1.7 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 4.0 nights (+2.2).
