Registered bed nights increased 26 percent

In June 2021, 249,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Agder (+26.4 %), of which 245,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 27 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased four percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 26 percent from last year's June.

83,100 nights (+19.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 19,800 nights (-26.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 548,000 registered bed nights (+27.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,800 (-38.5 %) for foreigners in Agder, in total 566,000 (+22.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 9.0 percent

Total of 2.8 million registered bed nights (+18.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.6 million nights (+18.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 143,000 nights (+11.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Agder out of total registered bed nights was 9.0 % (+0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 9.4 % and foreign bed nights 3.1 %.

98,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.3 percent were domestic, and 1.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 2.5 nights (+0.43) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.75).

Registered accommodation sales in June were 67.5 million crowns (+9.0 million).

Registered January-June sales were 162.0 million crowns and they increased 9.9 million euro from the previous year.
