352,000 registered bed nights

In August 2022, 352,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Agder (-1.2 %), of which 257,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 95,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 177 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (42,000 nights).

103,000 nights (-15.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 28,000 nights (+0.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 1.5 million registered bed nights (-2.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 314,000 (+325.2 %) for foreigners in Agder, in total 1.8 million (+12.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.8 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Agder out of total registered bed nights was 6.8 % (-1.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 7.9 % and foreign bed nights 5.0 %.

155,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 72.7 percent were domestic, and 27.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 2.3 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.03).
