Paid bed nights

197,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 197,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Agder (-19.3 %), of which 193,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 91 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 19 percent from last year's June.

69,300 nights (+3.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 27,000 nights (-26.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 431,000 registered bed nights (-20.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 30,700 (-72.6 %) for foreigners in Agder, in total 462,000 (-29.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 8.4 percent

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (-45.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.2 million nights (-18.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 128,000 nights (-91.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Agder out of total registered bed nights was 8.4 % (+2.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 8.7 % and foreign bed nights 3.6 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Agder, length of stay in June was on average 2.1 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (+14.7 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 2.1 nights (-1.0 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+23.2 %).

93,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.5 percent were domestic, and 2.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 2.1 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.05).
