79,300 registered bed nights

In October 2020, 79,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Agder (-0.0 %), of which 74,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 50 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased less than one percent from last year's October.

31,800 nights (+22.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 24,400 nights (-12.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 1.5 million registered bed nights (+9.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 122,000 (-60.5 %) for foreigners in Agder, in total 1.6 million (-3.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (-32.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (-22.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 139,000 nights (-70.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Agder out of total registered bed nights was 5.3 % (+1.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.4 % and foreign bed nights 3.7 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Agder, length of stay in October was on average 1.9 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (+14.4 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 1.8 nights (-1.2 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+20.9 %).

42,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.8 percent were domestic, and 4.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 1.8 nights (+0.09) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+0.31).
