Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 17 percent

In September 2021, 131,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Agder (+17.1 %), of which 117,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 14,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 60 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 17 percent from last year's September.

42,700 nights (+13.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 27,300 nights (+19.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 1.7 million registered bed nights (+13.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 87,900 (-25.0 %) for foreigners in Agder, in total 1.7 million (+10.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 5.0 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+44.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.2 million nights (+34.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 452,000 nights (+120.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Agder out of total registered bed nights was 5.0 % (-1.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.4 % and foreign bed nights 3.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Agder, length of stay in September was on average 2.1 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-3.8 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 2.0 nights (+9.0 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-5.5 %).

63,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.8 percent were domestic, and 9.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 2.0 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.25).
