Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 10 percent

In January 2022, 36,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Agder (+9.8 %), of which 32,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's January.

11,000 nights (+49.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,100 nights (-8.8 %) by business visitors.

Market share 3.1 percent

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (+51.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 888,000 nights (+35.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 292,000 nights (+132.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Agder out of total registered bed nights was 3.1 % (-1.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 18 percent compared to earlier year. In Agder, length of stay in January was on average 2.3 nights and in Norway 2.3 nights (-17.7 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 2.3 nights and foreigners 2.3 nights .

16,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.9 percent were domestic, and 10.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Agder on average 2.3 nights (-0.44) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-1.2).
