1,700 registered bed nights

In March 2019, 1,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Ähtäri (-45.4 %), of which 1,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 83 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 47 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 24 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 45 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (34 nights).

1,400 nights (-46.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 260 nights (-37.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 4,000 registered bed nights (-38.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 270 (-24.9 %) for foreigners in Ähtäri, in total 4,200 (-38.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.9 million registered bed nights (-2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-2.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 567,000 nights (-1.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ähtäri out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay increased 20 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. In Ähtäri, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-2.4 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ähtäri on average 1.6 nights (+8.7 %) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-21.6 %).

1,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 54 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.5 percent were domestic, and 5.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ähtäri on average 1.6 nights (+0.3) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-1.2).
