In December 2020, 1,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Ähtäri (-29.6 %), of which 1,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 18 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 94 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 30 percent from last year's December.
1,200 nights (-24.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 95 nights (-62.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 57,000 registered bed nights (+28.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 960 (-44.0 %) for foreigners in Ähtäri, in total 58,000 (+26.1 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 10 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Ähtäri, length of stay in December was on average 2.0 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+15.3 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ähtäri on average 2.0 nights (+3.5 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+80.1 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 36 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.0 percent were domestic, and 1.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ähtäri on average 2.0 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-0.12).
