Registered bed nights increased 76 percent

In February 2022, 3,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Åland (+75.5 %), of which 2,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 400 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 76 percent from last year's February.

2,200 nights (+40.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,800 nights (+153.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 3,600 registered bed nights (+8.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,600 (+137.0 %) for foreigners in Åland, in total 6,300 (+40.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 1.4 million registered bed nights (+56.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (+21.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 384,000 nights (+554.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åland out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

2,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 77 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 63.8 percent were domestic, and 36.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 1.6 nights (-0.14) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-1.7).
