Åland: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased five percent
In February 2020, 6,600 bed nights were recorded in Åland (+4.8 %), of which 3,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased three percent and foreign bed nights increased 13 percent. In total, bed nights increased five percent from last year's February.
5,200 nights (+13.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,400 nights (-18.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 6,500 bed nights (-13.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,600 (+17.2 %) for foreigners in Åland, in total 13,100 (-0.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

3,900 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 48.1 percent were domestic, and 51.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 1.6 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 1.7 nights (0.0).
