Åland: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased two percent
In June 2019, 63,800 bed nights were recorded in Åland (+2.1 %), of which 33,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 29,900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased six percent and foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, bed nights increased two percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (21,900 nights).
60,500 nights (+2.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,300 nights (+2.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 72,300 bed nights (-1.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 66,200 (-6.2 %) for foreigners in Åland, in total 139,000 (-3.7 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 54.4 percent were domestic, and 45.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 2.0 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.06).
