Åland: Tourism in a nutshell
1,500 registered bed nights
In April 2020, 1,500 bed nights were recorded in Åland (-90.9 %), of which 1,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 87 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 95 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 91 percent from last year's April.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Lithuania (210 nights).
730 nights (-95.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 760 nights (-61.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 8,700 bed nights (-56.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,200 (-62.0 %) for foreigners in Åland, in total 15,900 (-59.3 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 94 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 92.5 percent were domestic, and 7.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 2.5 nights (+0.53) and foreigners 9.9 nights (+8.0).
