Åland: Tourism in a nutshell
8,000 registered bed nights
In November 2019, 8,000 bed nights were recorded in Åland (-15.7 %), of which 3,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 19 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 13 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 16 percent from last year's November.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (3,700 nights).
6,600 nights (-9.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,400 nights (-36.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and November, 168,000 bed nights (+2.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 222,000 (-0.3 %) for foreigners in Åland, in total 390,000 (+0.7 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

4,700 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 44.1 percent were domestic, and 55.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 1.6 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.01).
