Registered bed nights increased 230 percent

In November 2021, 11,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Åland (+227.1 %), of which 6,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 111 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 1,100 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 230 percent from last year's November.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (3,800 nights).

7,400 nights (+202.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,200 nights (+280.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 211,000 registered bed nights (+57.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 63,700 (+172.5 %) for foreigners in Åland, in total 274,000 (+74.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 1.4 million registered bed nights (+70.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+53.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 278,000 nights (+220.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åland out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.8 %.

6,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 187 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 61.2 percent were domestic, and 38.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 1.8 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.17).
