2,200 registered bed nights

In February 2021, 2,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Åland (-66.0 %), of which 1,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 360 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 39 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 90 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 66 percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (320 nights).

1,500 nights (-70.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 690 nights (-49.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 3,300 registered bed nights (-48.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,100 (-83.0 %) for foreigners in Åland, in total 4,400 (-66.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.2 percent

Total of 903,000 registered bed nights (-51.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 845,000 nights (-31.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 58,700 nights (-90.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åland out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay increased 15 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Åland, length of stay in February was on average 1.9 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (+10.9 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 1.8 nights (+8.4 %) and foreigners 4.2 nights (+144.5 %).

1,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 70 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.5 percent were domestic, and 7.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 1.8 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 4.2 nights (+2.5).
