Registered bed nights increased nine percent
In January 2022, 2,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Åland (+8.7 %), of which 1,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 880 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's January.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (460 nights).
1,100 nights (+7.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (+9.5 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 15 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Åland, length of stay in January was on average 2.7 nights and in Finland 2.4 nights (+10.2 %).
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 2.3 nights and foreigners 4.1 nights .
900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.9 percent were domestic, and 24.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åland on average 2.3 nights (+0.37) and foreigners 4.1 nights (-0.2).
