Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 74 percent

In November 2021, 46,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Ålesund And Sunnmør (+73.8 %), of which 40,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 104 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 16 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 74 percent from last year's November.

14,900 nights (+128.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 20,400 nights (+23.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 641,000 registered bed nights (+11.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 131,000 (+47.2 %) for foreigners in Ålesund And Sunnmør, in total 772,000 (+16.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.3 percent

Total of 2.0 million registered bed nights (+132.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+133.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 247,000 nights (+123.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ålesund And Sunnmør out of total registered bed nights was 2.3 % (-0.8 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.3 % and foreign bed nights 2.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 30 percent compared to earlier year. In Ålesund And Sunnmør, length of stay in November was on average 1.8 nights and in Norway 1.8 nights (-23.5 %).

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ålesund And Sunnmør on average 1.7 nights (+6.3 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-15.4 %).

25,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 148 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.0 percent were domestic, and 8.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ålesund And Sunnmør on average 1.7 nights (-0.29) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-11).
