Registered bed nights increased 66 percent

In May 2022, 11,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Älvdalen (+65.5 %), of which 10,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 59 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 195 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 66 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Netherlands (340 nights).

1,300 rooms (+72.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,100 rooms (+165.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 153,000 registered bed nights (+12.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 24,500 (+407.3 %) for foreigners in Älvdalen, in total 178,000 (+25.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Älvdalen out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

4,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 60 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.8 percent were domestic, and 12.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Älvdalen on average 3.0 nights (+0.24) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-2.0).
