Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 10 percent

In September 2018, 30,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Älvdalen (+9.7 %), of which 28,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased eight percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's September.

6,700 rooms (+4.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,000 rooms (+20.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 544,000 registered bed nights (+1.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 113,000 (-1.1 %) for foreigners in Älvdalen, in total 657,000 (+0.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (-0.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (-1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (+2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Älvdalen out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased five percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. In Älvdalen, length of stay in September was on average 3.4 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (+0.8 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Älvdalen on average 3.4 nights (+0.4 %) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+0.3 %).

9,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.4 percent were domestic, and 7.6 percent were from foreign countries.
