Registered bed nights increased 30 percent

In May 2021, 7,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Älvdalen (+29.7 %), of which 6,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 360 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 30 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 30 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (80 nights).

760 rooms (+212.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 780 rooms (+10.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 136,000 registered bed nights (+14.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,800 (-80.6 %) for foreigners in Älvdalen, in total 141,000 (-1.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+44.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Älvdalen out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

2,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 38 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.5 percent were domestic, and 3.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Älvdalen on average 2.8 nights (-0.16) and foreigners 4.2 nights (-0.85).
