1,600 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 1,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Åmål (-36.5 %), of which 1,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 78 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 11 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 90 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 37 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (47 nights).

530 rooms (+71.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 220 rooms (-57.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 19,100 registered bed nights (-32.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,200 (-92.5 %) for foreigners in Åmål, in total 20,400 (-54.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åmål out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

1,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 28 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.8 percent were domestic, and 4.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åmål on average 1.5 nights (-0.13) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.12).
