Registered bed nights increased 140 percent

In May 2022, 3,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Åmål (+139.5 %), of which 2,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 490 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 108 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 1,100 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 140 percent from last year's May.

440 rooms (+67.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 810 rooms (+112.1 %) by business visitors.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åmål out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

1,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 115 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.0 percent were domestic, and 15.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åmål on average 1.8 nights (+0.18) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.3).
