Registered bed nights increased 420 percent

In April 2021, 48,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Åre (+416.9 %), of which 47,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 440 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 102 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 420 percent from last year's April.

16,200 rooms (+416.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+543.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 212,000 registered bed nights (+29.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,500 (-82.6 %) for foreigners in Åre, in total 218,000 (+11.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åre out of total registered bed nights was 1.9 % (+1.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

15,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 560 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.4 percent were domestic, and 2.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 3.1 nights (-0.77) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-2.4).

3,600 air travelers

The airport received a total of 3,600 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 2,200 percent.

Of local passengers, 2.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 98.0 %.

In addition, there were 4,000 passengers departing the airport (+2,179.7 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 7,700 (+2,192.2 %).
