Registered bed nights increased four percent

In September 2021, 32,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Åre (+3.8 %), of which 31,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's September.

12,300 rooms (+3.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,500 rooms (+65.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 432,000 registered bed nights (+34.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,700 (-50.0 %) for foreigners in Åre, in total 452,000 (+24.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åre out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

16,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.6 percent were domestic, and 5.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 2.0 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.42).

13,900 air travelers

The airport received a total of 13,900 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 100 percent.

Of local passengers, 1.8 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 98.2 %.

In addition, there were 13,600 passengers departing the airport (+98.4 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 14,000 (+98.9 %).
