76,000 registered bed nights
In March 2023, 76,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Åre (-4.2 %), of which 66,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased four percent from last year's March.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (2,900 nights).
26,100 rooms (-2.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,400 rooms (+1.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 169,000 registered bed nights (-1.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 31,700 (+34.0 %) for foreigners in Åre, in total 201,000 (+2.4 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay was 2.8 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Åre, length of stay in March was on average 2.8 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 2.9 nights (-2.7 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-13.2 %).
27,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.7 percent were domestic, and 17.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 2.9 nights (-0.2) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.55).

The airport received a total of 16,300 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 30 percent.
Of local passengers, 2.1 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 97.9 %.
