15,000 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 15,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Åre (-52.4 %), of which 14,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 730 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 38 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 91 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 52 percent from last year's June.

5,000 rooms (-32.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 510 rooms (-69.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 184,000 registered bed nights (-37.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 32,400 (-50.2 %) for foreigners in Åre, in total 216,000 (-39.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.7 million registered bed nights (-48.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (-32.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 257,000 nights (-87.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åre out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

7,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 53 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.4 percent were domestic, and 4.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 2.0 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.41).

460 air travelers

The airport received a total of 460 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals decreased 97 percent.

Of local passengers, 0.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 100.0 %.

In addition, there were 530 passengers departing the airport (-96.8 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 990 (-97.1 %).
