31,700 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 31,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Åre (-12.3 %), of which 29,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 59 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 12 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (340 nights).

11,700 rooms (+4.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,500 rooms (-71.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 322,000 registered bed nights (-28.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,400 (-57.6 %) for foreigners in Åre, in total 363,000 (-33.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-20.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 436,000 nights (-62.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åre out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Åre, length of stay in September was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+4.9 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 2.0 nights (-5.7 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+8.3 %).
