Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In June 2022, 26,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Åre (+8.5 %), of which 21,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 250 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's June.

7,500 rooms (+8.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,400 rooms (+177.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 264,000 registered bed nights (+6.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 41,700 (+440.2 %) for foreigners in Åre, in total 306,000 (+19.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.9 million registered bed nights (+39.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.2 million nights (+17.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+259.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Åre out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Åre, length of stay in June was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-13.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 2.2 nights (-11.2 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-6.7 %).

13,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.7 percent were domestic, and 25.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Åre on average 2.2 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.04).

7,700 air travelers

The airport received a total of 7,700 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 159 percent.

Of local passengers, 5.1 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 94.9 %.

In addition, there were 8,100 passengers departing the airport (+172.3 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 15,800 (+165.6 %).

Registered accommodation sales in June were 9.1 million crowns (+1.8 million).

Registered January-June sales were 182.5 million crowns and they increased 63.5 million crowns from the previous year.
