Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 110 percent

In May 2021, 5,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Arjeplog (+109.5 %), of which 5,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 360 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 104 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 260 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 110 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Finland (106 nights).

230 rooms (+13.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,000 rooms (+177.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 36,500 registered bed nights (-0.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,500 (-57.4 %) for foreigners in Arjeplog, in total 50,000 (-27.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.2 percent

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Arjeplog out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 4.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Arjeplog, length of stay in May was on average 4.1 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Arjeplog on average 4.0 nights (+22.6 %) and foreigners 10 nights (+132.7 %).

1,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 132 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.4 percent were domestic, and 2.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Arjeplog on average 4.0 nights (-0.48) and foreigners 10 nights (-6.6).
