Registered bed nights increased five percent

In June 2019, 12,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Askersund (+5.2 %), of which 11,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 31 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (610 nights).

800 rooms (+0.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,200 rooms (+14.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 26,400 registered bed nights (+10.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,600 (+72.9 %) for foreigners in Askersund, in total 28,900 (+13.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Askersund out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

6,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.1 percent were domestic, and 10.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Askersund on average 2.1 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.1).
