Paid bed nights

3,000 registered bed nights

In October 2019, 3,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Avesta (-3.2 %), of which 2,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 480 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 34 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased three percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (63 nights).

173 rooms (-31.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,300 rooms (+1.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 25,700 registered bed nights (+6.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,600 (+38.7 %) for foreigners in Avesta, in total 33,300 (+12.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+3.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 936,000 nights (-2.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Avesta out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Avesta, length of stay in October was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-0.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Avesta on average 2.1 nights (+13.8 %) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+46.3 %).

1,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.3 percent were domestic, and 12.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Avesta on average 2.1 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.1).
