Registered bed nights increased one percent
In October 2020, 3,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Avesta (+1.5 %), of which 2,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 730 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 52 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased one percent from last year's October.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (430 nights).
104 rooms (-39.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,400 rooms (+3.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and October, 23,300 registered bed nights (-9.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,700 (-50.8 %) for foreigners in Avesta, in total 27,100 (-18.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 46 percent compared to earlier year. In Avesta, length of stay in October was on average 3.2 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+7.5 %).
During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Avesta on average 2.8 nights (+28.7 %) and foreigners 5.2 nights (-17.2 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 31 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.6 percent were domestic, and 14.4 percent were from foreign countries.
