Registered bed nights increased 13 percent

In August 2020, 59,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Båstad (+12.9 %), of which 57,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 30 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 79 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 13 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (790 nights).

10,300 rooms (+35.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,600 rooms (-49.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 251,000 registered bed nights (+4.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,700 (-82.6 %) for foreigners in Båstad, in total 257,000 (-6.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.0 million registered bed nights (-31.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.4 million nights (-11.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 638,000 nights (-77.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Båstad out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

29,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.2 percent were domestic, and 2.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Båstad on average 2.0 nights (-0.14) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.18).
