Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In August 2019, 52,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Båstad (+14.5 %), of which 44,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 56 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's August.

7,300 rooms (+1.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,100 rooms (+4.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 241,000 registered bed nights (+12.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 32,900 (+15.7 %) for foreigners in Båstad, in total 274,000 (+13.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Båstad out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Båstad, length of stay in August was on average 3.9 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Båstad on average 3.8 nights (+1.9 %) and foreigners 4.5 nights (-0.3 %).

13,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.4 percent were domestic, and 13.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Båstad on average 3.8 nights (+0.44) and foreigners 4.5 nights (-2.7).
