Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In May 2021, 35,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Båstad (+27.4 %), of which 34,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 310 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 25 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's May.

5,900 rooms (+66.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,700 rooms (+286.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 76,600 registered bed nights (+19.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 450 (-76.5 %) for foreigners in Båstad, in total 77,000 (+16.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Båstad out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 24 percent compared to earlier year. In Båstad, length of stay in May was on average 3.4 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Båstad on average 3.4 nights (-6.2 %) and foreigners 4.2 nights (+55.7 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 68 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.3 percent were domestic, and 0.7 percent were from foreign countries.
