Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 14 percent

In August 2020, 20,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Berg (+14.4 %), of which 19,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 940 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 37 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 74 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (320 nights).

3,400 rooms (+31.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 330 rooms (-52.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 90,300 registered bed nights (+19.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 4,900 (-67.9 %) for foreigners in Berg, in total 95,200 (+5.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.1 million registered bed nights (-31.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.4 million nights (-10.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 615,000 nights (-77.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Berg out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased three percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. In Berg, length of stay in August was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+6.0 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Berg on average 2.4 nights (+11.3 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+7.8 %).

8,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.2 percent were domestic, and 5.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Berg on average 2.4 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.19).
