Registered bed nights increased 71 percent

In August 2022, 376,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Bergen Region (+71.0 %), of which 180,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 196,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 187 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 71 percent from last year's August.

220,000 nights (+83.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 73,200 nights (+73.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 1.1 million registered bed nights (+50.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 693,000 (+245.2 %) for foreigners in Bergen Region, in total 1.8 million (+91.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 7.3 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Bergen Region out of total registered bed nights was 7.3 % (+2.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.6 % and foreign bed nights 10.2 %.

202,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 75 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 47.6 percent were domestic, and 52.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Bergen Region on average 1.9 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.05).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 249.5 million crowns (+130.3 million).

Registered January-August sales were 1.2 billion crowns and they increased 681.0 million crowns from the previous year.
