Paid bed nights

96,600 registered bed nights

In June 2020, 96,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Bergen Region (-70.8 %), of which 88,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 48 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 95 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 71 percent from last year's June.

44,800 nights (-74.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 36,500 nights (-59.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 418,000 registered bed nights (-43.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 101,000 (-74.2 %) for foreigners in Bergen Region, in total 519,000 (-54.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.1 percent

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (-45.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.2 million nights (-18.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 128,000 nights (-91.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Bergen Region out of total registered bed nights was 4.1 % (-3.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.0 % and foreign bed nights 6.3 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Bergen Region, length of stay in June was on average 1.8 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (+14.7 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Bergen Region on average 1.7 nights (+3.8 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+23.4 %).

54,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 73 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.7 percent were domestic, and 5.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Bergen Region on average 1.7 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+1.1).
