96,000 registered bed nights

In October 2020, 96,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Bergen Region (-50.7 %), of which 81,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 14,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 42 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 73 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 51 percent from last year's October.

41,700 nights (-50.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 36,800 nights (-51.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 983,000 registered bed nights (-27.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 204,000 (-79.1 %) for foreigners in Bergen Region, in total 1.2 million (-49.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 6.4 percent

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (-32.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (-22.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 139,000 nights (-70.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Bergen Region out of total registered bed nights was 6.4 % (-2.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.0 % and foreign bed nights 10.4 %.

Length of stay increased 17 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. In Bergen Region, length of stay in October was on average 2.0 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (+14.4 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Bergen Region on average 1.9 nights (+11.6 %) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+26.5 %).

47,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 58 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.5 percent were domestic, and 8.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Bergen Region on average 1.9 nights (+0.22) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+1.7).
