Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased two percent

In March 2018, 34,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Blekinge County (+2.3 %), of which 27,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 33 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased two percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,300 nights).

5,100 rooms (+6.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,800 rooms (-20.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 75,000 registered bed nights (-2.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,900 (+9.2 %) for foreigners in Blekinge County, in total 88,900 (-0.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 4.7 million registered bed nights (+12.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.7 million nights (+7.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.0 million nights (+32.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Blekinge County out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.7 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Blekinge County, length of stay in March was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+5.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 1.8 nights (-1.5 %) and foreigners 3.3 nights (-11.1 %).

17,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.3 percent were domestic, and 11.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 1.8 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 3.3 nights (-0.17).
