Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased three percent

In October 2018, 47,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Blekinge County (+3.3 %), of which 35,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased seven percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's October.

6,800 rooms (+12.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 17,200 rooms (+3.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 687,000 registered bed nights (+3.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 236,000 (+7.7 %) for foreigners in Blekinge County, in total 923,000 (+4.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+6.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+5.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 956,000 nights (+9.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Blekinge County out of total registered bed nights was 1.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. In Blekinge County, length of stay in October was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (+1.0 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 1.7 nights (-2.2 %) and foreigners 5.1 nights (-8.4 %).

22,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.0 percent were domestic, and 10.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 1.7 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 5.1 nights (-0.22).
