23,500 registered bed nights

In March 2020, 23,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Blekinge County (-27.7 %), of which 21,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 60 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 28 percent from last year's March.

3,400 rooms (-41.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 9,200 rooms (-25.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 74,100 registered bed nights (+5.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,600 (-25.9 %) for foreigners in Blekinge County, in total 81,700 (+1.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.8 million registered bed nights (-37.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.4 million nights (-33.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 406,000 nights (-54.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Blekinge County out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 11 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Blekinge County, length of stay in March was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.7 nights (+19.0 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 2.0 nights (+8.0 %) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+1.7 %).

11,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 35 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.4 percent were domestic, and 5.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 2.0 nights (+0.25) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.03).
