163,000 registered bed nights

In August 2020, 163,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Blekinge County (-10.7 %), of which 139,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 23,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 59 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 11 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (14,400 nights).

19,900 rooms (-4.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,900 rooms (-37.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 610,000 registered bed nights (-4.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 59,600 (-72.3 %) for foreigners in Blekinge County, in total 669,000 (-21.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.1 million registered bed nights (-31.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.4 million nights (-10.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 615,000 nights (-77.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Blekinge County out of total registered bed nights was 2.7 % (+0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.6 % and foreign bed nights 3.8 %.

Length of stay was 2.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Blekinge County, length of stay in August was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+6.0 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 2.4 nights (+6.1 %) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+2.0 %).

64,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 90.4 percent were domestic, and 9.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 2.4 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 3.8 nights (+0.04).
