Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In October 2021, 51,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Blekinge County (+15.5 %), of which 34,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 16,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 81 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (6,700 nights).

11,400 rooms (+29.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 14,400 rooms (+23.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 725,000 registered bed nights (+5.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 164,000 (+106.3 %) for foreigners in Blekinge County, in total 890,000 (+16.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.3 percent

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+25.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+19.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 708,000 nights (+57.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Blekinge County out of total registered bed nights was 1.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 2.4 %.

Length of stay increased 23 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 23 percent compared to earlier year. In Blekinge County, length of stay in October was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-4.6 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 2.0 nights (+4.9 %) and foreigners 5.1 nights (-3.7 %).

20,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.0 percent were domestic, and 16.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Blekinge County on average 2.0 nights (+0.25) and foreigners 5.1 nights (-0.19).
