Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In March 2023, 10,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Boden (+9.5 %), of which 9,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's March.

3,700 rooms (+146.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,400 rooms (-1.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 26,000 registered bed nights (+28.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,100 (+8.4 %) for foreigners in Boden, in total 31,100 (+24.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Boden out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 3.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 17 percent compared to earlier year. In Boden, length of stay in March was on average 3.4 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Boden on average 3.8 nights (-29.9 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-3.5 %).

3,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 31 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 78.0 percent were domestic, and 22.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Boden on average 3.8 nights (-0.86) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.25).
