Registered bed nights increased five percent

In August 2022, 52,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Bodø (+4.8 %), of which 36,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 16,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 75 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's August.

24,300 nights (-4.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,600 nights (+10.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 226,000 registered bed nights (+24.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 76,100 (+314.9 %) for foreigners in Bodø, in total 302,000 (+50.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.0 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Bodø out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

31,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 21 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 63.2 percent were domestic, and 36.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Bodø on average 1.8 nights (-0.14) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.41).

Registered January-August sales were 165.5 million crowns and they increased 64.4 million crowns from the previous year.
