Registered bed nights increased 142 percent

In December 2021, 12,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Borås (+141.6 %), of which 11,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 121 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 510 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 142 percent from last year's December.

3,900 rooms (+136.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,800 rooms (+163.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 196,000 registered bed nights (+34.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,200 (+37.6 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 216,000 (+34.7 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

7,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 191 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.8 percent were domestic, and 12.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 1.7 nights (-0.37) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.39).
