13,600 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 13,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Borås (-38.2 %), of which 12,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 76 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 38 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (550 nights).

3,700 rooms (-41.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,600 rooms (-42.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 119,000 registered bed nights (-31.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,000 (-75.9 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 131,000 (-41.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

7,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 43 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.0 percent were domestic, and 9.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 1.8 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+0.05).
