Registered bed nights increased 71 percent

In May 2022, 25,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Borås (+70.7 %), of which 21,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 390 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 71 percent from last year's May.

6,100 rooms (+96.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,100 rooms (+128.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 79,700 registered bed nights (+78.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,500 (+375.7 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 92,200 (+95.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

13,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 87 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.1 percent were domestic, and 12.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 1.8 nights (-0.24) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.29).
