Registered bed nights increased two percent

In September 2019, 22,000 bed nights were recorded in Borås (+1.8 %), of which 17,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,600 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased eight percent and foreign bed nights decreased 16 percent. In total, bed nights increased two percent from last year's September.

6,300 rooms (+15.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,000 rooms (+0.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 175,000 bed nights (+5.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 49,900 (-9.6 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 225,000 (+1.5 %) nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 4.5 million bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

13,500 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 78.2 percent were domestic, and 21.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 1.7 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 1.6 nights (+0.03).
