Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 10 percent

In March 2023, 17,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Borås (+9.6 %), of which 15,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 21 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's March.

4,800 rooms (+22.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,900 rooms (+10.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 41,200 registered bed nights (+9.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,300 (+43.7 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 47,500 (+13.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Borås, length of stay in March was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 1.7 nights (-20.1 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-1.6 %).

10,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 25 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.7 percent were domestic, and 7.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 1.7 nights (-0.25) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.05).
