Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In December 2018, 15,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Borås (+6.3 %), of which 12,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 29 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (480 nights).

3,700 rooms (+9.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,600 rooms (+9.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 214,000 registered bed nights (-3.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 68,000 (+12.9 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 282,000 (+0.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Borås, length of stay in December was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 1.9 nights (-1.6 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.8 %).

8,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.3 percent were domestic, and 20.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 1.9 nights (+0.19) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.12).
