Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased five percent

In June 2019, 27,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Borås (+5.0 %), of which 21,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from China (1,500 nights).

6,900 rooms (+16.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,500 rooms (-8.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 100,000 registered bed nights (+0.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 23,900 (-4.7 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 124,000 (-0.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Borås, length of stay in June was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (+4.2 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 2.2 nights (-8.8 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-7.6 %).

13,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 71.8 percent were domestic, and 28.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 2.2 nights (-0.35) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.03).
