Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased four percent

In August 2019, 30,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Borås (+4.1 %), of which 23,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased six percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from China (1,700 nights).

7,800 rooms (+4.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,800 rooms (+1.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 158,000 registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 45,300 (-8.8 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 203,000 (+1.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Borås, length of stay in August was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 2.2 nights (-4.0 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-3.9 %).

14,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 73.4 percent were domestic, and 26.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 2.2 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.04).
