Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 136 percent

In April 2022, 24,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Borås (+135.6 %), of which 20,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 108 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 560 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 136 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (1,500 nights).

5,900 rooms (+153.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,600 rooms (+168.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 58,200 registered bed nights (+90.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,600 (+370.3 %) for foreigners in Borås, in total 66,800 (+106.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.2 million registered bed nights (+64.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+46.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 791,000 nights (+260.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borås out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Borås, length of stay in April was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-23.8 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 2.1 nights (-8.5 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+16.8 %).

11,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 163 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.4 percent were domestic, and 12.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borås on average 2.1 nights (-0.39) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+0.86).
