Registered bed nights increased 28 percent

In September 2019, 36,700 bed nights were recorded in Borgholm (+28.5 %), of which 34,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 39 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 38 percent. In total, bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's September.

4,300 rooms (+2.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 920 rooms (-58.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 897,000 bed nights (-2.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 106,000 (+7.3 %) for foreigners in Borgholm, in total 1.0 million (-1.8 %) nights.

Total of 4.5 million bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borgholm out of total bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

16,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 93.1 percent were domestic, and 6.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borgholm on average 2.2 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.84).
