Registered bed nights increased five percent

In May 2022, 58,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Borgholm (+4.8 %), of which 54,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 300 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (1,700 nights).

6,200 rooms (+19.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,200 rooms (+56.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 67,200 registered bed nights (-0.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,200 (+216.6 %) for foreigners in Borgholm, in total 72,400 (+4.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borgholm out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (-0.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

25,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.9 percent were domestic, and 7.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borgholm on average 2.3 nights (-0.31) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.1).
