Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 32 percent

In May 2021, 56,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Borgholm (+31.6 %), of which 55,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 31 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 65 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 32 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (400 nights).

5,000 rooms (+241.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 710 rooms (+144.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 67,700 registered bed nights (+35.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,600 (+18.6 %) for foreigners in Borgholm, in total 69,400 (+35.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borgholm out of total registered bed nights was 1.7 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay was 2.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Borgholm, length of stay in May was on average 2.7 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borgholm on average 2.7 nights (-12.7 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-46.7 %).

21,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 41 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.8 percent were domestic, and 2.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borgholm on average 2.7 nights (-0.18) and foreigners 2.3 nights (-1.0).
