Registered bed nights increased 45 percent

In March 2021, 29,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Borlänge (+44.6 %), of which 28,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 660 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 46 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 45 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (210 nights).

7,700 rooms (+54.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,100 rooms (-28.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 72,200 registered bed nights (-20.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,800 (-42.4 %) for foreigners in Borlänge, in total 74,000 (-21.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Borlänge out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased 14 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Borlänge, length of stay in March was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Borlänge on average 2.4 nights (-0.7 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-16.1 %).

12,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 27 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.3 percent were domestic, and 2.7 percent were from foreign countries.
