Registered bed nights increased 36 percent

In May 2022, 27,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Botkyrka (+36.3 %), of which 25,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 34 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 73 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 36 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Lithuania (1,000 nights).

1,800 rooms (-22.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,900 rooms (+45.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 110,000 registered bed nights (+29.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 6,800 (+46.4 %) for foreigners in Botkyrka, in total 117,000 (+30.7 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Botkyrka out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

9,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 42 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.0 percent were domestic, and 3.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Botkyrka on average 2.9 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 6.6 nights (-16).
