Registered bed nights increased 60 percent

In November 2021, 66,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Central Finland (+60.0 %), of which 60,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 48 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 660 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 60 percent from last year's November.

30,100 nights (+32.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 36,800 nights (+93.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 795,000 registered bed nights (+23.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 37,800 (-18.0 %) for foreigners in Central Finland, in total 833,000 (+21.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.8 percent

Total of 1.4 million registered bed nights (+70.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+52.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 279,000 nights (+221.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Central Finland out of total registered bed nights was 4.8 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 5.4 % and foreign bed nights 2.2 %.

40,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 70 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.1 percent were domestic, and 7.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Finland on average 1.6 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.77).

The number of foreign visitors in November was 8,700 (+959.3 %). Out of them 680 were on a daytrip and 8,000 stayed at least for one night.

The cumulative number of foreign visitors between January and November was 48,400 (+3.7 %).

Total consumption of these visitors in Central Finland in November was 1.7 million euro (196 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 1.6 million euro and day visitors 64,900 euro. Between January and November the consumption was 9.0 million euro.

Accommodation sales 3.8 million euro

Registered accommodation sales in November were 3.8 million euro (+1.8 million).

Registered January-November sales were 38.2 million euro and they increased 6.9 million euro from the previous year.
