95,100 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 95,100 bed nights (+25.5 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Central Finland in December 2021. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 78 % and non-registered 22 %.
Between January and December, the number of paid bed nights was 1.2 million (+8.0 %). Share of registered was 75 % and non-registered 25 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.

Registered bed nights increased 46 percent
Registered bednights in Central Finland in December increased 46 percent compared to year before. Bednights were recorded in Central Finland in December 2021 74,300, of which for Finns 69,600 and for foreign visitors 4,700. Therefore domestic bed nights increased 41 percent and foreign bed nights increased 250 percent. In total, bed nights increased 46 percent from last year's December.
53,600 nights (+42.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 20,600 nights (+57.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, bed nights in Central Finland were in total 917,000 (+24.0 % compared to year before), of which domestic were 877,000 (+26.8 % compared to year before) and foreign visitors 39,300 (-17.2 % compared to year before). In Finland bed nights were between January and December in total 17.5 million (+22.1 % compared to year before), of which domestic were 15.4 million (+28.0 % compared to year before) and foreign visitors 2.1 million (-9.0 % compared to year before).

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Central Finland, length of stay in December was on average 1.9 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (-5.9 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Finland on average 1.9 nights (-1.1 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.3 %).
38,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 75 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.0 percent were domestic, and 5.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Central Finland on average 1.9 nights (-0.39) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.71).
128 air travelers (Jyväskylä)
The airport received a total of 128 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 370 percent.
Of local passengers, 10.2 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 89.8 %.
In addition, there were 151 passengers departing the airport (+420.7 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 280 (+398.2 %).

Accommodation sales 4.3 million euro
Total accommodation sales in December were 4.3 million euro (+1.3 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 17.3 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 3.6 million euro (+1.5 million) and non-registered sales 749,000 euro (-227,000).
Total January-December sales were 53.1 million euro and they increased 5.2 million euro from the previous year.
